HOW TO SOAK
|
A NOTE FROM BECKY
I realize that this is a crash course in soaking and sprouting your nuts, seeds, grains, and legumes. Realize I only had about 12 minutes in this video to share and there is a wealth of knowledge out there for your perusal. My goal was not really to teach you all there is to know but rather whet your appetite and give you a window into our world and how I have incorporated the knowledge entrusted to my charge. I took a 6 -week class through my local Weston A. Price Chapter and that only laid a foundation. I would encourage you, if you are interested in learning about eating using traditional methods that aid in better digestion and assimilation of nutrients, to check out online the Weston A. Price Foundation. There are also some great online classes or DVD’s to purchase that are excellent resources. I believe Lea included some links below for soaking/sprouting times as well as more helpful information to get you started.
My heart and vision is to help you build your home and that includes your body and your health. I want to use this time I have to help you lay a strong foundation by leading you to rich resources and truths often hidden from the public eye. I encourage you to research. Ask why. Seek answers. God promises when we ask for wisdom He will give it to us liberally. I desire to help you lay the building blocks of good health. The following are what I call the food pillars. When you master the basics, then all else can be built upon this strong foundation:

And this is just the food. I hope to impart as much of the wisdom God has given to me as our time allows. I would love to incorporate topics such as homeschooling, family relationships and communication, child training, setting up home, gardening, hospitality, faith and ministry. My way is not the only way, just the way that works for us. And believe me I am still learning. The Proverbs 31 woman is a learner. Come learn with me. A wise woman seeks out what she does not possess in herself until she masters it and then too can turn around and pass it on to the next generation. In this we will fulfill the scriptures, “And they shall rebuild the old ruins, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the ruined cities, the desolations of many generations.” Isaiah 61:4. Let’s build our house ladies (Proverbs 24:3-4). We have a high and powerful calling women to influence the next generation. Let’s take our place and restore God’s vision for godly womanhood and family.
Right now, I am heading to the kitchen to share with my kiddos a warm, hot bowl of soaked oatmeal dripping with grass-fed butter, whole milk, and maple syrup. I feel confident about what I set before my family. They are getting the best for their bodies and learning how to properly prepare food in the process.
After all, I need to pass that info on to the next generation because that it part of the legacy I impart to my future generations. I want to pass on the legacy of health and wisdom one brick at a time. I challenge you to do the same. –BECKY
